As I was a way for a few days, I'd left the beast down with my mechanic to sort a few things........the main thing being my eternally wet boot.......to recap, already had dum-dumed the petrol filler neck where it meets the rear wing......also had the rear light re-sealed and then a hole drilled to allow water away......................did it make any difference to date NNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:bigcry3:

So....this time it was a full strip out.....I mean full.....my mechanic likes to swear, he got a lot of practice!!!!

Turns out, the rear passenger side light was not sealed properly on the bottom edge, seal near top of boot opening fettled a bit and finally the rubber corrugated tube which carries wiring from body to boot lid for latch was re-engineered and dum-dumed too.......hoping this has now worked....if not watch this space!

When changing the 3200GT for a GS I went up to Aberdeen to view/drive a black GS. Had it out on the road for half an hour or so, then had a good poke around - took the owner's sports bag out, lifted the boot tray cover and no kidding, 6 inches of water in the spare wheel well.

His face, he had no idea.

The GS was a bit too black, and a bit tatty, however this 'sealed' it's fate as it were.
