Time for an update on this as well!...
I have a format coming together (hopefully) at Silverstone.
It would be a full day event.
To make it stack up I think we need between 20 and 30 participants. We would split into two groups where one group would begin in the Caterhams (two cars on the autotest course with instructor) and the other group on the wet handling facility in their own cars, but again with instruction.
Because Silverstone have a draconian public liability insurance requirement, the only way they can make it work in our cars is to have the instructor in the car all the time, which to be honest is no bad thing, though he'll be doing some serious car-hopping.
Both groups would have their own wet handling procedures / manoeuvres designed to develop car skills.
The two groups would swap over for the afternoon session.
The copse runway is also available for speed testing. I'm still working on this bit, as they offer it for speed testing, but don't have the timing equipment, but I'm sure we can work something out.
Total cost - £5K, so £250.00 per driver based on 20 drivers reducing to £166.66 for 30 drivers.
I don't see any point in rushing to organise this for this year, so I'd suggest we allow time to finesse the whole thing and go for a Spring 2014 event.
Based on the above details, and given the cost is certainly higher than previously at Rockingham, can those still interested let me know so I can get a better gauge on numbers?
Thanks, Miles.
