Safe journeys everyone. The grub van is okay - burgers, hot-dogs etc. I had two burgers last time and lived to tell the tale. Don't forget both parts of your licence!!

08.00 kick off I'd better get some shut eye.....

Daft but it took the best part of 2 hours last year to get there for me so I'm setting off at 06.00, car is fuelled and I'm all excited again!!!

See you all in the morning guys, no cup cakes unfortunately = secret weapon is on another project at the moment!

I'll leave my digs around 7:50 then.

Assuming the car is still there... As the Hilton shares a car park with the local nightclub and bars!!
Didn't spot that when I booked it! Oh, and it's not a Hilton but a travel lodge with a Hilton badge.
(It's actually not bad, shame about the parking)

Morning all,

Turns out the wife's joking that I'd be too excited to sleep properly was spot on! Failed to not wake her when I got up (so that will serve her right). I dare say the neighbours will be even less thrilled when I start the car. Pretty much ready for the off, just need to finish my coffee.

Newton, I'll join the M11 at Stansted and will keep m eyes peeled for you.

Dan, I hope you car has had an incident free night. See you all soon.

Morning, the car's still there and appears to be the same shape and colour as when I went to bed, so that's handy!
See you all shortly.

Right, on my way shortly for the PM session. Looking forward to hearing all about the morning session from you chaps. License is by the door so I'll have to step over it to leave it at home!!

Miles, that was top class, thanks once again for organising it !

Had great fun, the company as always was top class. Nice to meet a few of you who were new to me. Thanks all of you for the encouragement and advice. Though I didn't master the drift, thay leaves something to do next time.

Anyone considering this event next time, I can honestly say as a newbie that it is well worth it.

Woody you will definately enjoy it later today (or you may be on it already as I type).

Fun it most definately was, reduced numbers and a taylored session meant we got loads of time on the bassalt tiles (really slippery stuff) and a full hour of time on the drifting loop!!! Some spectacular stuff including a double spin for myself on one of the goes but I got much closer to nailling it this year and the best was around 2/3 of the loop ending in a controlled correction!!!

Only bummer was when I was leaving Enzo's kids spotted my front left was completely flat!!! Backed it up to the adjacent bike tyre stall and blagged the airline and found the inside edge had canvas tatters hanging out all around!!!!!!! With a bit of over inflation it seemed to be holding pressure a bit so I chanced getting away from the racecourse before calling the breakdown rescue, actually made it with regular checks to Bar Hill before too soft to keep goiing, again to Ongar and finally home where it is looking very sad on the driveway... At least it got home albeit at 50 max!

Daft thing is that 90% of the tyre still has around 2.25mm guess I'll add geometery check to my winter work... I'm fairly convinced I'm at the end of the clutch too!!!

We will have to wait for Miles T to get home for video and stills as he was a spectator this morning and therefore official photogragher :) Great to see some new faces and catch up with some more familiar ones too...

That was a bad one Newton. Must have been a slow one all the way back home, but at least you got there.

Can't wait to see what Miles captured.

Just back. Great day I thought? Hope everyone had a good time and got something out of it? Dan took over the photographic duties in the afternoon, so between us hopefully there's lots of photo's and video's to come. I'll sort mine and post them tomorrow.

Glad you got back in one piece Newton. Must have just caught a tile a little awkwardly?

Great as always to see you Bal. Forgot how lovely your 4200 is! :D

Glad you made it back ok Newton. My rears are pretty scrubbed from inept drifting.. clearly a sign that a return visit is essential.

Miles - a huge thank you for arranging. It was a brilliant morning: terrific fun, I learned loads and it was great to meet some of you at last. I took a few photos but look forward (or possibly not!) to seeing Miles' video nasties from this morning.

Great photos. The PM session was great, thanks to Miles for organising I had a great time and learnt a little as well. Was great to meet a few of you and hope you all had safe trips home.

Newton I think you left shortly after I arrived, sorry to hear about the tyre must've been a slow trip.

I spent most of my time on the drift crescent doing 360's! Great fun!

Thanks again Miles.

Some good photos there Adam, great to meet you today. Yes I suspect the 'raised' couple of bassult tiles may have snicked it they would be razor sharp but at the end of the day its just a tyre and all is safe, if it hadn't have gone down like that I may well have blasted home and I could have had a high speed blow out on my hands....

Sorry I missed you Ross; I got a bit blinkered after it was spotted; I don't think I even thanked the lady at the tyre stand for the ********...!!!
