Hi. I think this may have been covered somewhere.
The lambda sensors and carbon filter maserati saying they need to be changed per service or my extended warrsnty is void. I had the reccomended vs required chat. They say they are required but i dont reckon they know. Ive asked for the actual service worksheet to see what it actually says... my car only has 5k miles on it. Iys complete wadte of money. Advise?

Pretty sure that lambdas and carbon filters are a 4 year service item - but nobody gets them done unless they start failing or they have a warranty to keep happy unfortunately.

This is true and it is a requirement of the extended warranty. I know this as I had the same experience years ago. Given the last GranTurismos were registered in 2018 you are likely one of the last people to go through this PIA.

I had the same thing on my last car. It needed a 4 year service and JCT wouldn't do it unless they followed Maserati's service schedule which requires the lambda sensors to be changed. I think you've got to suck it up if you want MD stamp I'm afraid. I'm likely to go through the same thing later this year when mine is due its 4 year service.

This

It comes with the territory of owning a car under the warranty or an extended warranty. But they have their reasons I guess and the lambdas can be quite fragile so at least you can drive along, safe in knowledge that your gasses are being read in the most efficient manner and measured impeccably!

Oh Goodie, something to look forward to later this year.... extended warranty value vs cost to maintain compliance for it...???

Lambda's are a wear item especially on Ferrari engines but i'd say actual replacement would be at a decade or 60k miles rather than 4 years.
The service manual does state 4 year interval but also lists it as service 7

also there are two carbon filters, one would be your cabin filter (general described as interior/pollen filter) which is 5 min work super easy.
AND the charcoal/carbon canister for the fuel vapor return i recall from EU4 regulations (US smog) that was a service item to comply with regulations that isn't such a straightforward job
