I am sat at my van now, 270 miles from Ashford in 4 hours, with a fuel stop!!!

Thanks Matt, great week, and thanks to the guys for being so welcoming and down to earth.

Hope everyone makes it back safe!

Had a good mini-meet with Jon in the migrant camp. Sorry, Eurotunnel compound. Now on a train which was due to leave at 1920, "around midnight", maybe 8am, 0515, 0115, 0315 and 0324. Honestly, the ******* carnage and unmitigated ****-up which is the Eurotunnel really has surpassed itself today. I shall be writing a sternly worded letter to the *****.

Now, after a most ******* fantastic and amazing trip (thanks to everyone, not least of all Matt for making magic happen) I just need to stop using the words, ****, ******, ****-flaps, ***-socket and bog-***, as well as cuntery, with such regularity before I get home. Whenever the **** that might be.

Goodnight and God-bless, weary travelers.

Latest update - after various false starts and unwarranted hope, Mr Crud is just boarding the train at Calais after a 9 hour delay. No word from the Colonel and Nigel, the only others we're aware were stuck in the queues.

Awesome trip, massive thanks and congrats to Matt and David for organising everything. I'll update tomorrow, I need my bed. ******, stressful day for many.

Thanks Matt for another excellent week. I managed to get back before 11pm for my supper. Can't believe how much it rained today.

By all accounts some have us just got back safely in time to Brexit. Still nothing on the TV regarding Calais, but the express has it online.

Blimey. We must have caught the front end of it just as it was kicking off! We were driving through probably at 3pm as they were throwing rocks and trees over the fence and tear gas was being fired.

Police just told us to floor it and get through as quickly as we could.

We got onto our ferry and there were only about 10 cars with us!

Little did we know!

We were headed for our Eurotunnel train that should have got us home 4 hours earlier than our ferry. Thank goodness we abandoned that plan as Adam has only just left. We decided to use our 6:30 ferry booking and made it in time with some great help from other SM members who guided us through a route to the terminal which wasn't blocked.

Indeed, we were booked onto 3.30 and had loads of time, until there was a tree on the road, power of the forum again tho, feel for Adam etc, as long as everyone gets home safe it's only time lost!

Who's up for next year then?

1. MAF260
2. Felonious

(Do we need a 2017 thread..?)

Incidentally, the train is moving and there's now a mobile signal in the tunnel. Assuming the ******* thing's actually in the tunnel yet! (Freudian. Sorry.)
