Recovering, but ache when I see caramel. Some sort of reaction methinks.

Looking forward to the cocktail of choice next year, not!

Dare one ask about the state of your shoes..? And the clogs, come to think of it. Regardless it was a heroic achievement and I salute you.

Clogs intact
Liver in tatters
Bank account in ruins
Car in need of detailing
Shoes in need of re-connelising
I am in need to do it again next year!

You are a machine, Damo, a machine!

I suggest not giving your shoes away next time though, however needy the recipient appears to be. It was a scam, clearly. Oh, and bring a wipe clean tunic as well. Better safe than sorry.

Thanks for organising such a great trip. Made it back to the sunny cheshire via Dunkirk and Gatwick and then a long drive back to Cheshire.

Thanks to all the guys in waynes gite. So many new faces and a great few days. Martin thanks for letting me car share with you and good to get to know you better along the way. I made it back for 2.30 am ish so not bad time wise from LGW.

Miles will no doubt be ordering an apple turnover in the near future :)

That was a good run, 3 hours? I got in at 00:30 so around 1:40, I would have been quicker but for paranoia of police cars at night...I'm now up and going to head back! Thanks for being a great co-pilot, and the interesting chats, I feel more educated now. Next year we'll do a non calais ferry...

Matt, thanks for organising a great trip, sign me up for next year.

And a third user warned: "Migrants at Calais smashing cars up with rocks. Main A16 exit shut, traffic is horrendous, use D247. Ferry port empty."

^^^^ This!

BBC News has reported tunnel issues due to migrants storming the tunnel. Eurotunnel said the issue was broken overhead lines in one bore and a broken down train in the other.

Regardless, it was sh!t.

Got back at midnight ish. Got to the terminal too early and couldn't move off the motorway, finally got fuel after the needle stopped moving but missed 18:30 by 2 minutes, buger!

Managed to drive to the camp by accident and turned around by a riot rozzer who got out of a tank, really a tank, to direct me the right way, not the place for a maser! That place really is sheeet.

Thanks for organising, as usual, Matt.

If you're talking about low on fuel, Athol and I were both on fumes after diverting to Dunkirk, I managed to fill up with 77 litres! Athol more!

But if you want some quotes from our Gite, then look no further than Hoyin, he supplied two classics. One, that he's never hit the rev limiter...the second was to Moz.

'So why did you trade down to a 3200 from a 4200?'

Dave's look was priceless.

Bloody ****, Frank. You drove to a war?? I thought it was Ben who who off to have a mooch round some battlefields, not you.

82 litres at the Esso just the right side of the tunnel. I'd have had the hump if I'd run out getting on the train...

Hoyin - are you still on for an x-pipe?
