There was a Bianco Fuji 8C spider on the Whalley-Settle run on Sunday. It was as gorgeous as they always are and it's a car I would buy if I ever won the lottery. I'd still keep my spyder as well though.

There was a note in the window saying it was something like only one of 8 (IIRC) registered for the road in the UK. Stewart and I were still there when it left and we both commented how much it sounded like a GTS.

I guess given it has the GTS engine, that's not that surprising.

I've been told the coupe originally sold for £110,000 and the spider for £174,000.
I've also been told by some experts on the 8C that the differing driving characteristics of the coupe and the spider reported by the motoring press at the time are very very marginal unless you track the car and that the steel brakes of the coupe against the carbon ceramic brakes of the spider are preferable and much easier and better to use unless you again decide to track the car.

So the Coupe 2nd value is higher than the original selling price yet the Spidey in most cases has not risen much over the original price......

Did not know the Spider has Carbon Ceramic brakes and the coupe did not???

Suppose they can be retro fitted and here is the interesting bit, they can thus be fitted to the 3200/4200/Spyder/GS then???

But a hellishly expensive mod

Yes but from the few people I talked to that have driven 8C's back from Europe the carbon ceramic brakes found on the spider are much harder to use than the steel ones on the coupe in the sense that they need a very firm stab of the pedal and the only benefit you will have is on the track where they are literally fade resistant.

Exactly Andy. In fact most spiders are selling at below their original selling price. It could well be that the coupe is seen as the more collectible of the two.
