This isn't a bad price for an unreg car...Most are charging closer to 200k for a Spyder..

Wow, just stunning. These are the only cars today that I cannot find fault with lookswise. I'll never be able to afford a spyder but there's an outside chance of the coupe. Would be tempted to get it converted to RHD, but would be terrified of it affecting the resale - esp if they do a bad job!!!

Yep, RHD would effect price....Look at all the classic LHD cars that have been converted...Integrale was never worth more with RHD conversion..Less in fact

A conversion from lhd to rhd could be very costly, there is a u.k Ferrari F50 which was converted to RHD, cost 200k.

DOn't understand the 8C Spyder prices....DL's with 900 miles on 2010 is 139k....Then there is another with 500 miles , same year 189k....Prices are all over the place...

I think the prices reflect the garages just chancing their arm with some rich idiot walking on to the premises and going 'I want that'.

It would take ten minutes to look over pistonheads and see that there are actually a few 8C's around, all pretty similar, and plenty of haggle room available.

I'm not in a position to do it now, but if any of the dealers are prepared to close in nearer to the 100K mark then I might have a crack next year. In pure investment terms, it seems a better bet than say a GT-S. I'd rather have any spare money I have invested in that sort of metal rather than stocks and shares... :)

It will be interesting to watch the depreciation if I had sort of cash I don't think I would risk it

an 8C could be a good investment although you would have to keep the miles down.

Would be hard to avoid the temptation!

The 8C has actually appreciated since its release so to me it is a solid investment option. Anyway, I have plenty of friends who have bought 30K exec-mobiles and later sold them for nearer 10K after piling the miles on. If I lost 20K on an 8C it wouldn't be the end of the world. I'd have owned one of my true dream cars. I'm a petrolhead first and foremost, not an astute investor. ;-)

Agree MS....Never thought I would say it but yes I would have one over a Maserati.....Well sort of keeping it in the family with the engine anyway....Only thing for me is that the Spyder is the better car dynamically and also more expensive....

At least the spyder is so expensive that it is never going to be an option!

To be honest, there is very little Alfa about this car, other than the badge. The guts are Maserati and the coachwork is by the same company to whom Maserati outsource. I feel bad about the fact that I will be skipping a generation of Maseratis by not purchasing a GT, so lusting after an 8C makes me feel a little bit better. (Barring a meltdown in my current freelance work situation, I shall, with slightly mixed feelings, be putting my order in for a new GT-R in the next 4-8 weeks. Then next year I will see what sort of price the 8C is at.)

Pat can I ask why you are not going for a GTS?

You see I am not so sure either about the GTS and it would be good to see if your thinking about it is the same?

I love the GT S and when I look at them I want one but there is that niggling thought in my mind that makes me think I actually don't want one...Think its because the GS I yearned for and when I drove the GT and GT S it never gave me the same feeling the GS did...EVen the interior didn't feel as special as the GS....Not as snug....Then there's the same...It's a big car tthe GT ... I like big cars but I also like a car that you can throw around a bend and felt you could still do that in a GS but the GT just felt to heavy ....The GT S was much better but you could still feel all that weight..............Don't get me wrong I love it and probably would love one at some time but I don't find mydelf yearning for one like I do for a GS.............
