Andy i dont think the GS interior is a patch on the GTS interior, it might not be as snug but the quality of the GS interior is miles away from the GTS interior.

If i won the lotto, GTS would be the first car i would buy without hesitation.

i think the looks and sound are worth the extra money. GTS is the best car i have been in and that includes Gallardo Spyder, Gransport, 4200 Spyder, 996 GT2, F430 and 997 Turbo.

The GTS is the one car i would love to go in again the most.

Pat can I ask why you are not going for a GTS?

You see I am not so sure either about the GTS and it would be good to see if your thinking about it is the same?

Hi Matt,

It was a simple case of the pro's very slightly outweighing the cons

GT-S Pros
It's a Maserati and I love Maseratis
It looks great from the outside and on the inside
It sounds great

GT-S Cons - for me
60-70K previously would get you a new Maserati coupe, now it will get you a second-hand one coming out of warranty
The GT is a little too big for my liking - reduced 'chuckability', as Andy points out
I still feel slightly 'ripped off' by Maserati in that they hiked the price when the GT's basic technology and platform are 7 years old
In performance terms it is not a step up from my GranSport

GT-R cons
It's not a Maserati
I don't really like the looks

GT-R pros
I can buy a new one with my budget, and the resell prices are pretty good
It carries all the latest technology, which was refined even further last year
It's a twin-turbo, and I still miss my 3200
0-60 in 3.0 secs

I think personally you may get bored of the GTR as you have stated you love Maserati and miss the brand. The most amazing thing about the Nissan is the power, apart from that they are quite boring in terms of looks and they are a Nissan.

I'll definitely get bored of looking at it - in fact I'm bored already!

But I doubt I'll get too bored of driving it, with that kind of pace. In any case, all powerful cars are great fun to drive in their own way. Even my GTV was great, with FWD and 'only' 220BHP.

The GT-R is not a long-termer anyway, I'll be looking for something else after about 18 months of ownership - possibly the 8C, if I can afford it (and justify the expenditure). If Maserati had properly replaced the Coupe and kept the price down with some slight improvement in performance, then I would be back in a Maser without a second thought.

Thanks Pat, have you considered the Alfa 4C?

I like the GTR but it is a yobs car. The outside I think is very menacing, but the interior is the biggest let down for me.

You have PM

It is a great car Adam withoug a doubt....But for me the styling is a bit unfinished which I have mentioned before....The front is just out of this world and then the further back you go it seems the designer got tired as it was time to go home....The back is just not successful in my eyes........I would have a QP GTS over it any day of the week...The design is just perfect............But thats not to say I don't like the GT S...............

I see what you mean, the front is in a different league compared to the rear of the car, overall though, it is easily in the top 1 of best looking new cars you can buy today.

Its up there Adam but because of the rear for me now number one...To be top it needs to be the whole product...Not sure what that is mind.......Maybe an Aston DBS or Vantage or QP.....Maybe the Frony of the GT...

Aston DBS, if you just want to cruise and look good and buy something other than a Ferrari then look no further, they are stunning, no denying it.

It's funny that we don't talk much about the QP GTS much on the forum - it's surely not all that far off its sibling in terms of weight and performance? QPs are very chuckable and well balanced also, people forget that.

It would be my choice of Maserati MS without a doubt.......Such a great looking car with perfect proportions....
