Hey Tania..... I see you have the same secret Maser desires as me!!!

Hiya Rob :)
Well I can not find a 3.2 v6 916 spider and I was actually thinking about what you said about Maserati's at Haynes. Well they are a lot of dreamy motor car for Mondeo money! I think its as close to owning a ferrari that I am ever going to get! I just Love whats under the bonnet. For many years I have drooled over them at BAIMF. Never thinking that owning a 4200 Maserati could be in my reach.

Do you think you will be taking the plunge and buying one soon?

All the chat on here is giving me more desire by the day! lol

Indeed I think Andy is right.

It's the natural way to look at Maseratis after being a big Alfa fan.

So, what the similarities and differences between the brands?

Both are very similar in the way the make you feel. The bloodline is very apparent and both stir the soul and make an event out of driving that other marques, especially our Germans, fail to do.

The differences, well the basic ones are power, oh lots more power! Also you get noticed more in the Maserati, the badge is just so choice. Many a time I walk up to my car and hear men and small boys saying "look, it's a Maserati"

So for all you Alfa fans, you must, must have one, honestly you won't look back.

As they are quite rare Tania...sometimes the normal drop in price you'd expect during the winter may not apply...but you may have a bigger selection to choose from......as ever....if it hasn't been said before....a full indie inspection is vital when buying a Maser....no ifs....or buts

Thanks Parisien, yep its been mentioned I shall take your good advise on board, cheers. :) If the spyder does not become available to me I may jusy go for a 4200 with tin roof lol. Once I get to drive and inspect them both, making the compromise may be on the cards.

You are well hooked then. :) he majority of the german marques in my opinion dont have the life and soul feeling you get when owing and driving any italian marque. Having said that I aint driven an R8 lol I am sure that would put a smile on my face lol.

I like the idea of owning a Maserati, because they are cool cars, not too flashy in appearance, they are very classy looking. I am totally addicted to the v6 and v8 sounds of all italian beasties too. I will be needing a sports exhaust to make the most of that stunning v8 for sure. :) :)

I have to agree the Maserati is the natural progression of an Alfa,
One thing that has surprised me tbh, Alfa Maserati Ferrari all from the same family but the rarest of them all is the maserati, you see Alfas and ferraris all day long all over the place now a days But the masser is still a rare sight I can drive through London and see maybe one or two a week where as the other two u can't spit and not hit one!

I suppose that's one of the reasons I want to get out of my 159 and into a QP I like the rarer things in life, things that make me smile and go all teenaged girl in side and althoug the Alfa still does it to a point the masser just takes it to a who.e new level.

Go for it Tania. I went from a 156 v6 to the Coupe and it is 10x as special and I did really like the Alfa. Happy hunting.
