Have to say Robert - I am going the same route. Probably swap out the Range Rover and replace with an estate. Also, sounds filthy.

I've had the XFR and it's a ridiculously quick saloon. But a bit bland and boring, despite it being able to outrun nearly anything else on the road....

Of course not a Maserati but this estate is for some reason faster than just about anything else they have and for the size, that's impressive..!!

Well, I do quite like it myself.

Maybe not as different as the 156 when it arrived, but there are so many CANT DOS with NCAP ratings and computer / wind tunnel designs that all modern cars are looking more and more similar

I'd have a cloverleaf version.

Not sure what Marchionne and the FIAT/Chrysler top brass are doing here with this.

Pretty sure its going to eat Ghibli sales. The Alfa Giulia QV seems a better performance package on paper.

Thought maintaining brand segmentation was always the key.

Seems the Ghibli should have been an Alfa and this top spec Giulia should have been a Maser.

Thought it would be about 55 to 60k so not far off at 63k....Don't forget the M3/M4 is 59k and with a few options 65K.....This is a rival for those cars so as long as the dynamics and quality is right not reason why ALfa shouldn't charge the same.......Needs to be bloody good though and highly specced so you don't go adding option and it becomes a 70k car..

Will probably be able to pick them up for next to nothing in a few year's time.
Hope the UK climate is kind to them.

Surely all that rust body work is sorted these days Phil...But yes a 60k Alfa.....Would imagine it will shed value once the excitement has died down.

It's not the body that suffers but everything else that's bolted too it that's not plated or painted properly. New cars today have rust on them before they hit the roads.

Cars generally are a far cry away from the old Ford Tincorners and such like from the 70s and 80s thank goodness.

With a face only a mother can love, it will shed £20k pretty much instantly.

I am trying to like it but really hate it, it seems to be pretty much split down the middle.

Its just the front end/nose that I feel they have completely fumbled, I really can't get my head why they went down this route, its just not Alfa styling

I would love to see the design Mr M trashed, sending the designers back to the drawing board.

I just keep looking at this image and wondering where it all went wrong, perhaps Maserati agreed to let them use the underpinnings if they made it look like a surprised owl

The worst bit is by far the lower intake area, it looks cheap and tacky:

These amateur concept renderings all reflect what an Alfa should look like, daring and stylish with a menacing face and I would have been happy with any of them:

and what we got was this that just does not follow any Alfa bloodline:

On a positive, it looks like they have nailed the engineering which is such a shame.

Ill stop moaning now, Alfieri all the way for me now, better start saving.
