I much prefer Gatwick to Heathrow and not purely because its nearer, although to be fair only been to the old Heathrow terminals.

City is my favourite though especially for a flight to Geneva for skiing, its almost like catching a train.
Geneva airport during the ski season .....

GVA isn't bad during the week, even in the height of ski season. Weekends are grim though.

Right...

Tickets, flights, hotels booked for our annual trip to the show on 10th March for me and two of my mates.

Talking with Ferrari/Maserati re our usual access to stand and champers.

Anyone have an in on getting on the Aston stand as one of them is an Aston fan?

Otherwise we'll just try and blag it.

I'm looking forward to the skiing (as posted earlier) on the fri/sat/sun.
If weather bad will do the show.
What days are you planning on skiing, and where?
Mates Chalet is in Le Biot so we usually park up at the top of Les Gets and from there can ski into Switzerland and back into France for lunch!

My plan is to do the show on Thursday, then ski Fri/Sat/Sun (and indeed the rest of the following week... :) )

As to where, that depends on the snow conditions and who wants to ski where. We have season passes for the Megeve/St. Gervais/Mont Blanc area, and a load of day tickets for the likes of Les Gets, (all of PdS really), Flaine/Gd Massif, La Clusaz/Gd Bornand and so on to use up. Herself doesn't like Les Gets that much, mostly because they have the poorest piste preparation generally (seems they don't bother a lot of the time), but I'm easy.

Shame not flying Thursday morning, but Thursday evening, would have been nice to do the show on Thursday.
Anyway wait and see what the the weather and conditions are like nearer the day.
As I type, its just dumped an inch in the last hour here in the Holme Valley!

Excellent! A normal day in Holmfirth then :)

There was many a morning I woke up there, only to see nothing but snow as far as I could see.

Yah just wish Holme Moss was a little higher and was a ski resort.
If the forecast is right, could be a day at home with the kids, 'frosty' (the snowman) may live again in the garden!

Wife and I driving to Austria for couple weeks, thought we might detour via Geneva for motor show. Hopefully there by Thursday and stay overnight. Never been to Geneva. We have seen a couple of places to stay in Fernay Voltaire (near airport) Does anyone know the area? is it o.k.? or we would we be better off on the Swiss side close to Geneva?

FV isn't a particularly nice place, but the Novotel is OK there, and the Carrefour just next to the border and French-side airport access road has extremely cheap fuel; security at the hotels doesn't appear to be an issue. There's not a lot else there though, I'm afraid. However, it's massively cheaper (being in France) than the hotels across the border in Switzerland! PM me if you want anything else Mike - always happy to talk to a V12 Jag person :)
