two bucket little tip, don't put your wash mitt into the the second bucket, wash your mitt with hose into the second bucket. if you put your mitt into the second bucket all your doing to picking up dirt as that what mitts are meant to do... just a suggestion....

your wash bucket should be as clean as when you started

grit guard will help but only if the dirt is heavy enough to get down to the bottom, if not the mitt will catch them

however your right - for the daily drive washes that works however I treat paint surfaces like they are all hypercars and the less dirt that can get onto the mitt the better.

My 2 pence on clay bar vs mitt... the mitt is a good but will only collect about 70% of the contaminants on your clear coat so you will need to clay bar these areas i.e. on the paintwork behind your wheel arches
