I think the Ph3 has the best nose, the 3.2 is a complete beast, just be ary of the head gasket.

Worried, I am agreeing with Van - that's at least twice this year.

Modern production based Alfas are not investments, unless your investment plan has a 50 year duration. Just look at past performance 105 Series cars are just about starting to gain value and they all nearly 40 years old. Even then the money required to maintain one of restore out weighs the any investment potential.

Even SZ & RZ are holding their own but not increasing in value.

Buy it because you want it, to drive, to look at, to polish etc - the reason is immaterial but don't think about it as an investment.

Cheers guys. I want the car.....that the main reason. The 3.2 for me is a great drive and the GTV chassis is amazing. It's also one of the last real Alfas for me. I had 2 and if it goes up in value if just holds its own that will do for be.

Never heard of head gasket issue???

I drive the 3L and 3.2 back to back in 2004 and couldn't beleive what a difference the .2L made. Suppose its just a reworked and retuned version.

It's still Alfa's fastest production car I believe. I know a guy near me who bought a red one new, he still has it, uses it on nice weekends, I've seen data that says it is one of only 7 in the country (red).

Have you bought it yet ?

Just got in and no it was a wasted trip. It's supposed to have been garaged for the past 2 years, in reality it's been left outside and was in a bit of a state, unloved, so I walked away.

Can you gently ask him if he wants to sell it? I think I know the answer already, but its worth a try. Can you PM if the news is positive.

There are a couple of lovely Silver GranSports for sale, have been for a while, I honestly think Silver is the best colour for the GS/4200/3200 it shows the curves off really well.

I honestly had no idea they came in 3.2 as well !!!

Mind you, just yesterday I found out that the old GTV6 (which was either 2.5ltr or 3.0ltr for South Africa) ALSO came as a 2.0 Ltr V6 !!!

Live and learn :)

That been said, I'd never buy a silver car by choice. I've got enough cooking pots at home

Sound like you'd be surprised that there was also a 2.0TS turbo as well as a V6 2.0 turbo available in the 155

The 2L V6 turbo was for the continent and appeared in the GTV also, I think the tax laws made it not possible to sell the 3L V6 in some countries, Italy I know was one of them.
