Been thinking about what to do with the paint on the Brera.....I have been quoted £500 for the bonnet and the side sills to be painted....but at some time I will need to front bumper painted, the top bit of the boot has a bit of lacquer peeled off so that would need painting and the a detail as there paint that's left has swirl and scratches......So with that in mind what about wrapping her.....

I really have not been a fan of wrapping and would never do it to a car that was expensive but as she is older thought it would be an option. Wouldn't want a colour change as such but it would possibly be a little cheaper than going the other route.......With that in mind though it would have to look good....What do you think?

Andy, wrap would cost what, £1k???

My painter has just quoted £1k cash to paint the whole spider. The Brera has a roof so add another £200

It will be a good job too and the lacquer he uses is top knotch and £400 a gallon.

I will have to strip the trim off the car and put it back on, but that is easy.

Wraps will look tatty after a year and when you come to sell removing it will pull more lacquer off.

I'm not a fan of them Matt to be honest but was looking at all options..That's a good price for a respray Matt......Yes have a roof but most of it is glass.......MAy be some digging on a respray then....Thanks...

You could get away with a wrap, especially as Alfa offered a satin/matt paint option on the run out models.
So a grey/blue/red wrap would look good.

Another option.

Yes, they spray it on.....Better than a wrap but the looks of it and a lot cheaper than paint...Interesting....The only yhing with wrap and this sort of thing is I take it you can not polish or wax it so would imagine you never get that lovely deep shine....

That sounds like the best route to take personally and better from a resale perspective too when the time comes

I don't do Alfa oil burners but have been looking for a new daily driver.

A quick drive in a V6 Brera reminded me how heavy they are so I plumped for a 3.2 GT instead, came from the same source as the Brera you drove last year so a near spotless, well maintained car with all the right bits including quake diff. It arrives 1st of August so looking forward to it, I have already sold the 147 to make room for it :)

Agree, great car the GT 3.2....Lovely engine unlike any that came after it.....

Needed the diesel though due to miles being travelled now...Always loved the look of the Brera even though it is a tad nose heavy but it is a very lovely place to be and drives better than I remember.....

******* Italian cars...........Not such a good buy...Head gasket went yesterday.......

Was at the fecking tolls on the Severn Bridge, paid the toll and just gave up the ghost........It was fecking rush hour as well and I was not even close to the hard should but close to the middle of the road. Traffic was building up and two chaps help me push the car onto a little paved bit on the central reservation.

The highway Police then came and towed me onto the hard shoulder....shut all the tolls as they towed me across very slowly.....Oh the shame.....at this stage the tx's came rolling in...'is that you Andy?'....I know too many people in Chepstow going that way not to get noticed....

RAC came along and then towed me over the bridge and home but as we got to the roundabout...traffic bad....he pulled out and the tow bar came off so once again I held the traffic up with people squeezing by and having a good look in the car at me ... Oh the shame........

I was just thinking as I got to the tolls I have made good progress coming back from Daventry only for this to fecking happen 4 miles from home........

The only saving grace is it looks like it is covered under warranty.......******* Alfas....Love them to death and hate them to death.
