Well yes, middle finger in my right hand, knuckle now without skin!

All went back together easy in the end. Painted the disc centres as they had rusted, did the oil and filter and went and did the school pickup, drove lovely.

I was a little concerned that the rear would be too harsh but it's fine.

Garage hoovered out and both the Maz and the Alfa tucked up away.

A very sucessfull day!

Morning all, home from the west yesterday and an evening of working on Alex's airhead, welding bits and fabricating replacement brackets etc. He then decides to cut the loom in half to move the ignition switch from the bars to the (yet to be made) side panel! Good job he is training as an electronic engineer...

WFH today in a further attempt to catch up. On the plus side Jeanette's Mito is back from extensive rebuilding to find the mysterious fault that shuts down all the systems and aids after 80 miles! They have had the car more than twice as much as we have since new in June, they have replaced (to our knowledge), binnacle and instruments, centre console switches, ECU, ABS ECU, complete main harness and the complete steering column (and controls)! Alfa Romeo UK are sending her a cheque for £500 to cover two months lease which is a nice gesture.

Have fun all...

Well I took the Mito out this evening to pick up Alex and girlfriend, a couple of miles away. Bearing in mind Jeanette only got it back 'fixed' two days ago with nearly all the electronics replaced, a coouple of times it hickupped on the way, I noticed the air bag light was on so it has to go back anyway. Picked them up and headed for home and again it hickupped again. As I pulled up onto the driveway it nearly didn't stop then just spluttered and died, not just stalled actually died 100% electrical failure, not even interior light or central locking, nadda... so that is it. Tomorrow we go to Glynn Hopkins and hand them the keys and it is going, Alfa Romeo agreed last week that if it wasn't totally fixed they would replace it. So we will hold them to that.

Copied from SM:

Well it was almost comedy gold; Jeanette and I walked in the dealership and the Service receptionist on seeing Jeanette stopped mid sentence talking to another customer, turned pale and mouthed "Oh NO!", quickly dealt with the other customer and called the service manager over before engaging Jeanette.

Amazingly they still had the loan car booked out to us! so we phoned Alfa Assist and arranged a tow truck, returned home and I have just got back from taking it in and collecting the loaner... Who knows but this could be the last we will see of it?

Good morning all - what a dull and wet start to the week!!

Fun drive to work, something tells me the lane will be underwater by time we go home :(

Alfa garage phoned, said it was 'just the battery wasn't fitted correctly'!!!! Really; that won't cut it with Jeanette I'm afraid, she is incandescent with them, I wouldn't want to be the person on the end of the phone from Alfa UK today!!! How can we have any confidence in the car if they cannot even put a flipping battery in properly? Given how much of it this garage has changed in the last few months, what next?

Have fun all...

Well, another Monday spins round, life is moving too fast at the mo.

Washed out in Chichester at the mo which I am sure most of the rest of you are too.

Morning all, can't decide if I WFH today or go and do a job in Hackney, job is one that needs to be dry, I could gamble on doing it tomorrow instead. Going to be a bit quiet about the Mito for a few days/weeks as the situation develops but be assured negotiations are underway at a high enough level!

Have fun all...
