I take it they don't use the bus stop chicane at mallory?

What about Anglesey? There's a newish track there and speaking of new, Rockingham? Banked track anyone? A few Maseratis round there will sound like Monza in its prime.

Anglesey? Abroad? :D

Rockingham is very possible - Gixerboy has had his QP round there more than once to my certain knowledge, as did Susie a few weeks ago in her S3. When the infield section is used with half the banked oval it's a great track. As you say, the sound bouncing off the wall is very pleasant :) I'll look into it.

No, that's only used for bikes, never for cars.
Haha, even the top hairpin is tight. I've not been there since the plum pudding races in 2003 or so. By then they'd started to modify it to slow you down. It's a nice circuit but even the BSB don't go there anymore.

It's a lot of cash, but what the **** - I've booked myself in for HypermaxIII! I see from previous results that the last Masser hit 167, so I hope to tip the scales at 170 with the DMS and Larini upgrade - let's see. I'll also record the 0-60 and 0-100 as a point of reference too.
Can't wait.

I am up for that Drew, but might be kinder to run the 3200 around a track, rather than the big Italian Taxi.

To put that fee in perspective, we can rent a track like Blyton Park (noise limit we can pass...) for the whole day 9-5 for £3k. That's fully staffed, just us using it. Personally, I think it's just as easy to pay a commercial outfit per driver when they are running a track day anyway. I've been approached in the past by the Aston Martin Club and one of the Porsche Clubs to join with them in a 50:50 split on renting a track for exclusive use - the idea being that they didn't want to share the track with all-comers in stripped out £500 Clios, but would be happy to have the gentlemen Maserati drivers there with cars similarly valuable to their own.

I've told them that when we find some gentlemen, I'll get back to them :)

Thinking hats on then - if people are serious and want to do a track day, I will organise one. There wasn't much interest though earlier in the year when I suggested it.

Off to Brunty tomorrow for HypermaxIII. I would hope to get close to 170 before I have to jump on those flaky masser brakes; will let you know how I get on tomorrow.

Have fun ..... Do they use the same part of track as I think there is another longer run way...

I was thinking that myself. I'd have thought 170 was optimistic, assuming you want to stop at the end.....

Have fun, Mr. Beans.

If I remember rightly the full Brunty runway's about 3x the length of the section were familiar with. Surely long enough to max out AND stop in time afterwards.

Really? Well that makes sense. Having just looked on Google Earth, I never realised there was a chunk of runway behind as one came onto it. I guess that's probably to do with the vector involved :)
