******* ****!!I feel for you all, the equivalent of VED in Ireland would have both 3200 & 4200 just over €1800 and anything Maserati petrol 2009 onwards €2380.
Looks like I will be taxing my 2 tomorrow then. Robbing barristas!£695, yikes!
Luckily, mine is ULEZ exempt, so to get a sense of top value I shall make a point of driving it regularly through outer London.
PS... as my car is currently SORN but will be back on the road next month, I have the chance to tax it from 1 March for £630 or from 1 April for £695, a saving of £65 to tax now BUT with an unused month worth 1/12 of £650 = £54.17.
Which means, I think, that I'm marginally better off if I renew my tax this week vs next week. Correct, or is my calculator bolloxed again?
I'll wait. It might save the price of half a shandy to pay it this month, but think of all the interest I'll earn by keeping that £690 in my bank account for another few weeks.Looks like I will be taxing my 2 tomorrow then. Robbing barristas!
So to get the miles up this year why not come on the Drive It day round Worcestershire next monthLast year my VED was over a £ per mile... I covered. Outrageous.
That has to change at some point, maybe not retrospectively but they can't sustain that revenue loss forever, fuel duty VAT and VED , it'll be 10s of £millions lostIt’s an outrage. As from 1st April 2025 I’ll have to pay £10 a year car tax on my Audi E-Tron. Thieving politicians…
I'm not sure even Ewan would be willing to stomach that kind of VED bill on his battery-powered Audi. That has to change at some point, maybe not retrospectively but they can't sustain that revenue loss forever, fuel duty VAT and VED , it'll be 10s of £millions lost
I just did mine for tomorrow and it is still £630I'll wait. It might save the price of half a shandy to pay it this month, but think of all the interest I'll earn by keeping that £690 in my bank account for another few weeks.
Oh, hang on...

He'll be fine, we're all paying it for him at the momentI'm not sure even Ewan would be willing to stomach that kind of VED bill on his battery-powered Audi.
