Some may remember earlier in the year I was thinking about getting a Mito, as a wee run around. This would have meant keeping the bil ML55 for dog duties, family runs and stuff. Went the other way now, thinking of changing the ML for a 159 2.4jtdm Sportwagon and keeping our present runaround. Any thoughts re engine , problems etc.

I don't know a awful lot about the diesels, apart from the usual with knowing when the cam belt etc has been done. I knows there is alot of talk about remaps, and blanking off the dpf (i think?).

Just check for the usual knocks on the suspension, i do knows that ;)

The 2.4 is a good engine and has plenty of power. One of my customer contacts had 2 159 2.4s as company cars and he was very happy with both.

With 5 cylinders, they also sound great too for a Diesel

Alan, the 2.4 will be a bit thirsty and as you have the Maz to hoon around in, look at the 2L JTDM its a peach of an engine but as the others say, get the EGR valve blanked off and have that DPF box thingy removed, its a chocker.

Like you, the only car I would have after the GT is the 159SW, hopefully things will change next year with the release of the Guilia.
