Sorry for the (very) late post about this - I have been somewhat side-tracked starting a new business!

We are now looking forward to our 2024 All Italian Car Breakfast Meets, to be held on the first Saturdays in April, June, August, and October.
As with our previous meets, it will start at 9am on those dates, with the first being Saturday the 2nd April, at The Departure Lounge Cafe, just outside Alton in northern Hampshire.

The café is a great venue for a breakfast meet, as it has a large solid field on which the owner lets us park so as to be able to display our cars all together and out of the main public car park.

The meet starts at around 9ish, although officially it is 10am, which is when the café opens, and is not a formal event so no booking is necessary, and entry is free, so just come along if you fancy it.

It is open to any Italian car of any age, and we have had classics and supercars through to modern Alfas and Fiats, beautiful Maseratis, and everything in between. Attendees have come from across the southern counties and as far afield as London, Kent, and Dorset, with many clubs supporting the event.

The format is simple, we park up, chat to other owners and look at the cars on show, and have some breakfast if you want to. People usually drift away after lunch. We have had close to 200 cars at some previous events, so there is plenty to see.

We would love to see you all again, or meet you for the first time if you haven’t been before. Please do also spread the word to other Italian marque forums or social media that you are part of.

Yes, I put up a post about this yesterday as many events are being cancelled due to the state of the ground being sodden. What is the state of the ground at the Departure Lounge given that we park up on the field?

Do you mean Saturday the 6th April, @Ross156 ?

Unlikely I will be going now as the strong wind forecast for Saturday will disrupt the car ferry service across the Solent, even if I could now get a ticket at a reasonable price …

That's not good you will all have to talk to your wives or partners for a few more hours on Saturday morning ;)

That's good, I'll avoid having to tell her that I'll be avoiding her for a few hours on Saturday morning! :)

Yes, sorry to be the bearer of bad news - the cafe owner has very reluctantly had to cancel as the ground is just too saturated. Anyone who came to the mayhem this caused last April will understand why it is best just to cancel. The field there is usually very good, but it just hasn't stopped raining.

So, first Saturday in June next...

… And the rain seems to have continued, so just wondering what the current state of the ground is at the Departure Lounge and if Saturday’s event will be going ahead?

I slid down the field very elegantly in my QP last year.
No plans to do it again. I'm gradually learning about Maserati ownership.
Sorry if you saw it, enjoyed the show and were hoping for a repeat performance..

Just heard back from the Departure Lounge who say the field is alright at the moment, so Saturday’s meet is on …
