Thanks Contigo. I have researched as much as I can, via this august website, and checked as much as I could.

On the 2002 auto; Aircon worked very well
LEDs all worked
no suspension noises at all and confirmation by Mcgrath that the rear suspension was overhauled last year
Started and idled well, with no hesitation on the throttle
2 black keys and an unused red, still in its special box and all Maserati cards including unused toolkit
Contactless throttle body
No rust at all
Yes, the ASR definitely kicks in or I would not be here right now!
Sport button works well and Skyhook suspension felt awesome

Talked myself into this, haven't I?

It is a good idea if you are looking, to simply put a wanted thread on the forum, you never know who may be thinking of selling..!!

Mine was for sale for a month before Antony came around.

Very strange we didn't have a single person view the car the first month, then four people in a matter of 2days with 3 of them all willing to pay the asking price. I believe you have to get as much info on the car your selling I think the service and then the pre-purchase inspection helped . Plus it being one of the best out there.

Final update: I got on at last, the first one that was recommended to me - Cowsurgeon's.
What a thoroughly excellent chap and what a fabulous car!

I picked it up on Saturday morning and have done over 500 miles in it so far, with another 600 to go this week.
It is truly gorgeous and I love it.

Here are a couple of pics and I hereby absolve myself from being a newbie!

Thanks for all your help and advice...so far.

Antony

Congratulations! My old car - still looks great. You will see my name on a lot of the bills that should have come with the car. I spent an absolute fortune on her during my 3 years of ownership. I hope you enjoy and cherish her as much as Chris and I did.

Mark,
its a credit to your and Chris's custody that this car is so lovely. I can't get over how many times the wheels have been refurbished!

Any idea what the official Maserati name is for the grey interior?

I think only 2 of those were down to me - once when I first bought her (previous lady owner!) and again some time later when I kerbed one of the wheels. I was never happy with the original refurb, so had the whole set done. I'm a bit OCD with cars, so she was lavished with lots of care that often ended in my wallet being emptied. She's well known to Mathew at Giallo as all of my servicing and repairs for that car were done there.

I'm fairly sure the interior colour is called Grigio Chiaro, but you may want to check to make sure.
