So I decided to go for a road trip from Reading to Snowden. I drove around 650 miles in total in 3 days. Lots of A/B road and some awesome sports mode driving around the ‘mountains’ and a big motorway stint to get home in 5 hours of absolutely hammering rain.
Overall averaged 29mpg and the car was faultless.
The only little niggle was a couple of miles from home the indicator had a fault but after getting home and clearing the error code it hasn’t been back since (it’s been around 3 weeks). Maybe the 5 hours of torrential motorway rain got a bit of moisture in a sensor somewhere.
This car doesn’t cease to amaze me, they really love the open road and are great grand tourers. I always remember watching and reading the bad press of the Ghiblis before I bought it. It makes me wonder if these ‘car critics’ have any idea about what they’re taking about. Such a shame Maseratis get bashed, they’re such cool cars and are a fantastic drivers car.
3.0 petrol Ghibli base model.
