Not bad is it. :D spoke to so many people that were interested in the marque. Had a Guy asking my advice on a GS he'd seen for sale, people telling me about Tridents they'd owned in the past, people telling me about how they'd never really seen the Marque until today. T'was a day that reminded me why I bought a Maserati in the first place.

Hey guys. I'd also like to say that it was great to meet some of you today. It was a really good turn out and good to see so many Maserati's new and old.

It was nice to put some faces to forum names and to meet a few previous ones again, but thanks must go to the organisers (both club and forum) for their efforts; the Centenary event would smply not have happened without them, and my beloved and I had a fantastic time. ****'s teeth, it seems that I was even ahead of Sir Stirling at one point!

PS: Blondie, I never did get my tenner.......

Great day had by all, shame I didn't meet more new people, great to meet up with everyone... and the old Formula One cars from my childhood and touring cars through the years topped it off... sunshine too...

I didn't hear about this but sadly I just heard of a crash that happened on Sunday

link http://www.silverstoneclassic.com/press/Official-Statement

"It is with great regret that the organisers of the Silverstone Classic have to report that, following an accident in a race for HGPCA pre-66 Grand Prix Cars today, Sunday 27th July, the driver of car number 19, Denis Welch, succumbed to his injuries later in the circuit’s Medical Centre.

The event organisers, the race organisation, and the circuit’s medical and emergency services, will all now be co-operating with the Police and the MSA, the UK official motor sport governing body, to conduct a full investigation.

All those involved in the event offer sincere condolences to family and the friends of Denis Welch at this very sad time.

Terrible news. A reminder of how dangerous things can be in those old cars;
(Edited to correct / update earlier information): "Historic racer Denis Welch, 69, was killed in an accident at the Silverstone Classic on Sunday. The successful and experienced driver, who also had a performance parts business, was at the wheel of a Lotus 18 in the second Jack Brabham Memorial Trophy race for pre-1966 Grand Prix cars. Welch was involved in a multi-car incident at the Village/Loop complex on the opening lap of the afternoon event and the 1960 Lotus rolled."

Brilliant day at Silverstone, this is what owning a Maserati is all about..!! Loads of friends, great cars and a good time had by all..!!
Uploading a video of the track parade, when it's finished I will post a link, sounds not brilliant unfortunately, but you will get the drift..!! There were supposed to be 220 Maserati's on track in total..!!

Tragic when accidents happen for all concerned, but he was having great fun when it happened, no concellation for the family and friends though..!!
