That's the neatest engine bay I ever saw.
What did you use there?

What happened to go from that into a "project"?

It was bought by 'MadmanMart'; who clearly has a mission to rebuild what was already one of the best 3200's in the land! Just think how good it'll be afterwards!

Don't get me wrong the car was pretty mint bodywork wise but no matter how it's cared for, 50k miles and fourteen years takes it toll on the rubber components hence us going over it front to back.
Myself and Ron have never been keen on a beige interior so a change was planned before even looking at the car.

One of the best but had suffered end float hmm I think there's some logic in there somewhere? :)

Don't get me jealous and all that Dicky!

All the best old 3200GT's have light interior's...Regarding end float/worn bearings ....there 16 year old high end performance engines , what did you expect!

End float has been checked and all is good, if any problems do arise then we have a spare engine here.

In fact these engines are known to be quite resilient if endfloat is to be set aside.
There aren't many documented cases of burned head gaskets, cracked rings or other oil starvation problems.

Changing thrust bearings on an engine after removed from a car doesn't look overly complex.

Wow, what a project.

Please make sure the electrics are all good. The story from the Eurospares owner about the Ferrari 308 the owner spent 3 years rebuilding. It went up in flames. It's the saddest thing I've heard in ages.
