Just wondered if any other Northeners fancy having a meet/hoon sometime? I thought I would post and see who fancies it and where people are based etc?

I'm in Glasgow.

Well done for trying Outrun. I used to live in Glasgow and we managed a few get togethers of 3 or 4 cars back then and a right few at the Hopetoun House annual Italian car bash. Over in NI now so not just so handy for a Scottish run.

I think Andrew (Chippie Pilot) is still in Glasgow?

I come to Glasgow a few times a year to see my Daughter, next time I'm coming I will try and remember to PM you. Chippie Pilot might be around, but he spends quite a bit of time away as I remember..!!

We managed four Maseratis at Hill of Tarvit, near Cupar, this year. Probably not the best time of year weather wise to organise a meet. (Forfar here.)

I was at the Italian Car Show (correct name?) at Hill of Tarvit last year. There were a few Masers' present, five I think including me. Especially liked the red Merak.

Me too, the 4x4 I mean, the Masers are in for the winter unless it's bone dry outside..!!

Ditto, winter tyres on the 159 for the first time, will be interesting to see how well they work if weather gets nasty.

M+S tyres guys on the RR I've bought, are they full winter tyres or as near as?

P

That is probably an all season tyre. They need the snow flake as well to be full winters. They will be ok if there is plenty of tread but FWIW I swap my Disco3 onto full winters now as they are a lot better .

You will truly not believe how good they are. Have them on most of my cars including the Maser. Don't use the latter much over the winter but it's nice to know I can safely.

It will take a lot to get a RR stuck on all season tyres especially given the presence of the low ratio box.

What did you buy?

This little baby........4.6 vogue....two owners from new, no tow bar, on grass once....;)...never seen salt

Spend last few weeks, stripping her under side to rustproof, full service and a few fixes.......luv it!

Nice. Does it sit the same height at each corner? If so you have a good one unless there is lots of dog **** in the boot but can't tell from here.....

She looks nice Frank..!! I use M+S tyres on my Jeep and have never got stuck anywhere, even in quite deep snow, you should be OK..!! My old RR never got stuck on normal summer road tyes, it could slide a bit in real slippy stuff, but always made it anywhere..!!

I missed the original post but luckily the thrilling discussion of Range Rover winter tires boosted it back up the rankings

I'd probably be up for something. Unfortunately I'm pretty busy these days but I'm sure, with a bit of notice, my ruthlessly efficient social secretary would ensure my participation. I'm in Glasgow and since the 4200 is my daily driver the seasons don't (or rather can't) bother me too much.

Thanks for having a go and Good luck!

Cheers,
Kenny
