the skip outside my house would have an SZ in it.

Don't believe that Adam ..... Surely selling would be a better option..After all they are worth 25/30k...You could sell the exquisite, exotic designed SZ and put the money towards a follow the crowd, grey designed, Merc taxi..

Hi Guys, thought I would chip in here regarding M3 and C63 as having had an M3 as everyday car for 2 years and now a C63 for the past 2 months I guess I'm in a good position to judge them both. My M3 was a convertable (bought it for the wife) so not exactly fair to compare it to the C63 but here goes anyway.
M3, great engine when thrashed, great handling but a bit wobbly (due to roof), nice noise but can only hear it when the roof is down, uninspiring interior (even in Fox red), poor build quality roof rattled and banged like **** and bits of trim fell off, DCT gearbox fantastic.
C63, what a car! epic! more exciting, better noise all of the time (not just when being thrashed), better interior, bloody fast quicker than M3 (mine has the performance pack so 490bhp), better built, Auto box ok but miss the DCT.
M3 more of a sports car but C63 more thrilling everyday drive. Both look really good in white. The big thing is, both of these cars are better than my Granturismo but neither of them make me feel anywhere near as special and privileged as I do each time I get in the GT. I used to use my GT as my every day transport but now being able to save it for special occasions just increases the appeal. (just my thoughts).
Cheers
Andy

Respect your opinion andy.....
Im in the M3 camp.....

Yes! having owned many BMWs and never being drawn to Mercs in the past (still prefer BMW as a brand) I would have put myself firmly in the M3 camp but then I drove the
C63. Both a great cars though.

Im in the M3 camp.....

Respect you opinion also Andy .............. But you're wrong ..........

Only joking Andy, the Merc is a very accomplished car without a shadow of a doubt ....... Both are great cars I'm sure....... I'm with Dem though .....

I think you are right in that you are in one camp or the other and doesn't matter what the other does you are loyal to one or the other..

Out of interest, has anyone on the forum ever driven an RZ or an SZ? The prices have always been high, however I am wondering whether this is due to their rareness/exoticness, or because they are also great cars to drive.

I assume they are FWD, or were they built on the 164 platform?

Answers on a postcard...

Built on rear wheel drive 75 plateform I believe ..... MS, I seem to remember them having great reviews way back...not that fast but great handling .....The rareness of the car has helped the price as you say.

For once Adam I agree with you the SZ is a dog in my opinion, just because it is rare does not make it nice....
