Service Suggestion

Any recommendations for where to get an annual service on my Gransport? It will be the first since I bought the car. I am in Chipping Norton (North Oxfordshire), but guess I will have to go somewhere in the Solihull/Birmingham area or perhaps Dick Lovett in Swindon.

Thanks

Paul

You're pretty much equidistant from great specialists, McGrath Maserati in Kimpton, Shiltech in Loughborough, Migliore in Bromsgrove. DL in Swindon is closest but is a main dealership.

I can recommend Dove House Cars in Rushden. The Ferrari/Maserati tech there is called Ed and he's the most competent I've ever met. Although I do all my own servicing and repair work, he's one of two guys I trust to work on my car implicitly.

Despite having many options closer to home, I have a 400 mile round trip to get my car serviced as I really rate Marios and the team at Autoshield. Find somebody you can trust and build a relationship with. Distance is low on the list of priorities and it's always fun driving back in a refreshed car!

Thanks for that. I have emailed those three and will choose one when I get the replies. I see what you mean about DL - £1342.90. For other marques, some main dealers reduce the service prices for older cars just to fill their service bays.

I would try Dick Lovett first as alwasy had great service from the company when dealing with them and I think they will match any specialist quote...

I'm not far from you over the other side of Banbury and I make the trip down to Emblem on the south coast. This decision was made after a number of recommendations from other forum members, one of them also lives very close to me.

If you need to leave your car there then there are direct trains from Bournemouth to Banbury for about £30 from memory, no hassle at all plus you get a decent drive out :)

Who would that be ?

I live in Silverstone but take the Spyder to Emblem, I was recommended them by a fellow 4200 & serial Alfa owner I have known for years and so far they have been excellent. Not the cheapest but fantastic service and support. Direct train from Banbury to Bournemouth every hour takes about 2 hours and you always get the drive there or the drive back which is great to experience that Maserati feeling.

Yes, it's all your fault :)

Having been there and experienced the customer service, I wouldn't have it any other way. Was I about right with the price of the train?

Hijack time -
There's a few of us in this area now....time for a Maserati meet up?

I use Migliore cars in Bromsgrove and have been impressed with their work and professional advice.

Thanks again for all the advice. I took the car to Migliore yesterday. It was just an annual service, but I did want to find someone I will keep going back to. Very happy with the service I got there.

Yes there seems to be at least 4 or 5 of us within a 15 mile radius of Banbury.

Any suggestions for a meeting point? If a couple of us could set that then we can arrange a meet up date....new thread time I think.

Team GCR, hmmm sounds familiar. Got any Racelogic equipment?

Robin,
I would not mind calling in one day and having a look, could you use them to work on a car, or are they just purely for storage..??
Cheers

You are welcome anytime Rob, just give me notice so I can stock up on suitable liquid refreshment.

They all have removable drip trays so you can get at the cars from underneath if you need to and I specified the centre one with a jacking beam for any bigger jobs one might want to tackle.

Regards,

Robin
