458 "V" Balboni 3 x races

So below is a youtube vid I found a few days ago. It's a bit slow to start so bear with it.
Basically a long runway with the two cars dragging up it.

I don't get the point of the rolling 1st gear start? Other than the vagaries of the start procedure and reaction times, they seem very closely matched?

I guess it's because it's pretty difficult to do a full on start without using launch control and if they were doing it all day they'd mash the clutch.
That and the fact that it'd be more down to driver reactions than car speed.

Thought the 458 would tank past the Lambo...That was a suprise....A nice suprise mind you as I prefer the Lambo.

Not exactly wringing them out are they.....? Straight line and a rolling start I think the 458 is a bit 'precious' for him...

Is it Dutch or Flemish they are speaking?
