I'm thinking of sticking this old one at the entrance to our property and then say to people turn in where you see the old rusty van

Watching a YT vid on the AlfaSud and its history and didn't realise the Sud Italians built R4's then went on to make a total pigs ear of the Alfa Sud.
Another interesting fact there was an estate version...didnt sell surprise surprise.
Both the Sud and Allegro were designed at the same time by the same designer Guigario.
