Not sure the same would be the same in the UK....given the chance........;)

6.3. Will it be used for catching me speeding?

The data in our system can’t be used by law enforcement agencies for detecting excessive speed, but please do keep in mind that the French take speeding very seriously – and have much safer roads as a result. French police patrols and radar traps employ heavy fines. The speed limit on French roads is 130kph (when it is dry - anyway) – a bit more than in the UK. The time you save with a tag means you won’t have to think about speeding, or the cost of missing the ferry.

6.4. Will you be tracking me – are my movements secure?

We keep the identity of the user and the tag information as separate data – we cannot track your movements. We simply know when you pay for a toll. There is no record on the tag either.

See below.........am not that keen on giving my dosh to anyone even if it is £6 odd a year.........!!!!!

Return A Tag
Your Liber-t tag is designed for long term use. You only need to return it to us if you are sure you will not need it in the future. The cost of keeping the tag is just €6 per year. This normally works out cheaper than applying for a new tag each time you need one.

If you do wish to return your tag, please select the tag(s) that you want to return from the list below. When you click submit, you will receive an email containing a form that you need to print, sign and return with your tag.
Porteur Number (5 digits).....eg -
00000

I was tempted by this Frank, but like you say the maths doesn't add up unless you're a regular user. I seem to remember about once per month is the threshold for the savings to kick in; sound about right?

Having said that it is interchangeable between cars....not sure if between owners though

They have a FAQ on site which gives you lots of answers

I have one, and the time & fuel saved in queues is easily worth the £6, never mind the convenience of not having to look for change on the minor sections. With the tag, I've never had to queue at all.

Haha, it's not for nought P. I sometimes travel over at short notice with business without the time to arrange flights, so it just takes one of many hassles out of the equation.

Whether the 6 squid is then an expense item is between me and my conscience! :D

I use Toll Tickets.com for a transponder when I go down to Italy or the south of France.....unfortunately driving through France is such a pain nowadays

I tend to go through Germany instead, they do appreciate Italian cars over there...especially if your in an old Maserati 3200GT doing a 150mph

I just keep mine running anually, we have used it on various family cars, even friends, they just pay the invoice when it arrives..!! I seriously could not travel without one and have to stop at every toll, that would be ridiculous. That reminds me I need to order some new stick on tag holders..!!
