Evening all,

Just seen the Llandow thread and whilst it a nice little track and good vfm is there any interest in doing Brands sometime?
With MSV it costs somewhere in the region of £100 I believe, with group bookings you can get pit garages chucked in foc too.
Sadly I don't have the time to organise it, but if there was sufficient interest and a kind chap to organise it I think it'd be a great experience, let's not forget it was the home of the British GP for years!

What do you think?

Interesting........

Llandow is good craic, but the track is very simple and for less than 20 notes more??.........

I assume it's open pit Dan? Do you know how many cars on track at any time?

I have to say that is one of the good things about Llandow. Just us lot, no GT3's up yer @se being driven by muppets.

Interested though.

I could certainly be tempted too - did a couple of track days there in the past (driving Audi TTs). And it's a little closer to home than Llandow (but let's still do that one too - it's not an either-or!)

I'm not sure of all the details, but I'm sure a quick call to MSV would reveal all.

When I was there at the tale end of last year it was open pit and pretty laid back. Yes, there were GT3's getting huffy at a metro engined plastic car being faster than them... but a trip to the armco calmed him down. The organisers do want everyone to have a good time so if there's anyone annoying people you mention it to them and they have a quiet word.

I think there was somewhere in the region of 30 cars there, not sure what the max is and so I don't know if it's feasible to have it to ourselves for the day? There is of course the option of inviting some Lotus drivers from Seloc as they're generally well behaved and track savvy.

I did look at the MSV website a few days again......I take it we would have to do one of their dates and not just book a day that we would want...........

I see that thenext Brands hatch one is £149 for open pit lane.....Does saw how many cars on allowed but they do say a discount for car clubs so could be cheaper...Noise level is 105db static and 92db drive by...Thats Benny out...;-)

I asked msv last week about taking the track for the day as a club type event - this was the response for Brands, got it to 5000 but blimey!

Would Brands Hatch be of interest to you as a first event?
I have a rare opportunity to be able to offer an exclusive afternoon into evening on Tuesday April 2nd 2013.
Cost wise we could offer you the event at £7500, with the track time running 1300 till 2000, with a break for lunch.
I would also be able to arrange for photographs on the grid to be planned into your event so your drivers have something to remember the event by.

£7500 bloody ****....and thats for just over half a day...............Makes Llandows £1620 for a full day seem a bargain...OK not the same sort of track and I'm sure Brands is loads more fun but it needs to be for 3 times a much........You're better off joining on of MSV's pre arranged days for £145ish....

I'd be up for this - we could pick and msv etc date and fill it up....

i guess if we all book at the same time - or one books for all - then we could, in theory, have almost a Maser day. I have no idea how many cars they allow at each day...ill find out tomorrow.

worth a look i think

That sounds like a plan. Don't be too concerned about non masers being on track as well, it's not a race :D
The reality is that the organisers want everyone to have a good time so that they come back. As mentioned above if there's anyone driving in a way that concerns you or intimidates you tell the marshals and they'll have a word.

There's nothing wrong with Llandow and it is supurb value, but if people enjoy it there then this would be a good step up in that it's a bigger track with other people there.

In the wet it's very challenging, yet thoroughly rewarding. In the dry its actually pretty fast for a relatively small track. Tyre wear is considerably less than Llandow. I will certainly be doing another day or two there this year.

I'd be interested in this (I'm pretty sure my nephew Aj would be too). Maybe it's worth putting together a list of interested parties?

I too would be interested. Although, I wouldn't be using the QP. I'd bring along my Hawk. That would be a hoot around the Indy circuit. I hope that that would be acceptable to the rest of you?

I am obsessed with all things stratos so might not be a good idea if you plan to take it home!!!

I'd be interested. I took the Cup to Goodwood for the Maser Club track day, but rain stopped play early, so it needs another outing. And I promise not to bring the Porsche (that's booked on a Porsche only day at Bedford).
