Autumn factory tour

IMHO these things need to be organised early otherwise they're left all up in the air until the last minute.
Matt, my advice - get a bit of feedback, make a decision and stick to it.

My 2p: Rather than a chill day, how about St Agata for the Lambo factory? Only 30 mins from Modena...

More than happy to take in the Lamborghini factory tour instead of the chill out day on Friday. Can I leave that to you to see if it's a viable as I have no direct contact?

I've just had a word with the war department and she said, circumstances permitting, it's Ok for me and Ryan to play out. A spring trip would be better for me as I've used all my summer leave and I will, hopefully, be away in Indonesia for 3 months from mid September. BTW, IMO, FWIW, Franks Itinerary would be a belter.

Total Commitment. All I would ask is if we as a group are able to lock in some dates then I will be out there and make a firm booking with my flights etc.. Obviously I could not change my timetable quite so easily if the group suddedly want to move it up or down a month. So once we are looking reasonably solid. I'll lock it in.

I am in as of from now and thats before we know exactly how many of us are going or which route etc... persoanlly I would love to do the lambo factory as well.. The drive down in a group plus factory visits and the best food on the planet are what do it for me, did I mention Italian women as well!!.. nevermind.

There will probably be a space in the GTS if you want to put 2nd bagsy on it, I think Enzo MC has first bagsy.

We will see how we get on by the middle of the year and then make the call to do it either Autumn (the factory shuts for 1 month) or Spring 2013. If we do it in the spring we could have it to replace this years MC trip, but as it stands, Autumn is the primary date.

Lambo factory is do-able, below is part of a message from my Lambo man:


A Factory tour to Lamborghini Factory in Sant'Agata is of course possible. You can either arrange the travel yourself and i can arrange the Factory Tour / Visit element for you and your group or I can arrange most of it with your input and for this, i would need to discuss with Lucia (our Marketing/Events lady) as to how to acomplish this and best method as it maybe something that we could include into our events for 2012 here at Lamborghini Sevenoaks

Well, its all coming together nicely. Once work dies down a little from the madness, I will do the donkey work and see what we come up with.

Dan, I take it the tour is free, the F and M ones are.

I don't have an issue if you would like to invite a couple more Lambos along but I don't want a great massive convoy, it will attract too much attention and make hotel booking near impossible. If we do end up with 20 cars plus we should break it up into smaller groups of 5's. Its impossible to keep a 20 car plus convoy up anyway...I learnt this from your Lotus boys Dan, very good idea.

It would be better if cars have 2 people and you share the driving and associated costs etc.

Dan, you just go ahead and pinch my Aussie co driver then mate!

I like being popular, but go easy, I have no experience at being shared like this!!

Guys on a more practical note, I would be very happy to join either of you, as matt has a prior booking and I would still like to take up his kind option and bag a second ride with him. Can I bag a first option to ride with you Dan, just so I know I have something locked in, providing you end up going...

On the driving front, I would be more than happy to act as chauffeur to either of you but I have a principle of not doing any heroic driving in other peoples treasures, I would equally be happier if you could put me on your insurance to drive and I would be happy to pay any cost for that.

I have a clean UK drivers license amongst other nations, including the cook islands,,, and zero traffic record including parking tickets. Unfortunately I have to admit to driving for more than 25 years now...!! and I have driven in France, Italy etc as I used to live in Paris many moons ago...

but we can cover all that closer to the time...

I would be grateful Dan if I could just lock you in so I know I can come along...

Matt no need for you to do all the donkey work farm some of it out!! I am happy to help, and do some research..we all gain that way. Might be best if you do actual bookings due to time zones for me being middle of the night...

What I will do is sort the dates, factories and route, and if I can get some help with hotel arrangents it would be appreciated. All hotels enroute will be Pre booked and must have secure parking, the last thing we want is an incident. We also need to all have insurance and recovery too which I will arrange.

Benny is saying first 2 weeks in September which works for me. We need to find out first if the factories are open as I have a feeling it's September they might close down.

Dan if you can find out if the Lambo factory is open both in September and April and I'll do the same for F and M. Then we can get some idea of numbers.

Due to the complexity of this trip we will need to take some sort of deposit off everyone.

OK, I have just had word from my commercial agent and it looks like the offices will be completed spring 2013 so I wont have the GTS past this point as its my deposit.

So, I would like to stick to the original plan of early Autumn this year.

I will have a look at some dates and report back.
