I've been on the case of organising the forum club meet at Carfest North for this year. It'll be a similar price to last year for passes, around £70 per couple for the weekend. Camping is an additional charge this year at £100 for the weekend (bit dear!). First come first served on the passes, they may allow us to have additional cars as it's our centenary year but at present it's restricted to 6 cars, each with 2 passes. Please pm me if you would like to go, it's a brilliant event.

In addition, they'd like Maserati UK, Maserati Club, and SM to get together 100 cars for around 10am on Sunday 3rd August to do a parade lap. For this, they'd like a £10 donation per person to Children in Need and I'd think you'll get a day pass for this but it's yet to be confirmed. It's the week after the Silverstone meet but it's such a great event I hope we can manage a few Maseratis.

If you've any questions, please give me a call, cheers, Dicky.

I've just edited the first post, donations should be £10 per person I think if it's just Sunday.

Hi Richard,

Please put me down for my car with four passes for the Sunday Parade if it includes day passes.

It is a great event, we did the whole family camping both 2012 North, and 2013 South, but we found it a bit much with the kids for three days last year as there is TOO much for the kids to do (really!), so much so that we had little time for the cars and all too tired for the music in the evening. So a single day on the Sunday to enjoy the show without the kids this year would be great!

At Carfest South last year Aston Martin did something similar, they did a run out around the area finishing in the showground, and there must have been around 100, quite a sight to see, and hear!

Cheers,
Mike

Hi Rich

I will probably go for Saturday / Sunday x 2 and camp Saturday night.

But I would also like 2 x Sunday for the parade lap, so I have a total of 4 in my car Sunday
If that makes sense.

I will bell you in the week regarding this

Was a great event last year :)

Why can't you park up next to your tent? Notice the poor dear lugging two big boxes on a sack truck...bit OTT if you ask me. When I go to the British Superbikes half the fun is wandering around the camp site after the day's racing, beer in hand looking at the bikes that people have come on, having a chat with them. Is that what a car festival is about?

As I am only up the road, I would like to take part in the parade lap. Be rude not to.

Thanks.

I've had notice from Carfest about the main event, but despite asking countless times, I've no confirmation on the Sunday as yet.

Thanks Dicky, especially for your continued efforts to get an answer from the organisers. Good luck!

Any further news?
Car is booked in for some minor touch up repairs the week before, and they have promised it will be ready for the weekend looking its best!

No further news I'm afraid. I chase them up every day or so, just won't give me an answer regards the Sunday! I'm going to demand an answer tomorrow.

Hi Dicky,

I'd like to join in the Parade Lap as well. I should already have passes to this event as I'll be going with Sporting Bears doing Dream Rides for charity on the Sunday. The driver's briefing for the event should be at 10am, so hopefully I'll be able to make it across in time for the Parade Lap. Alternatively I'll have to skip main brief and be briefed individually instead post the parade lap.

Cheers,
T
