UPDATE and HELP please

I am ready to fire the engine but for one stupid little problem.

The cable that comes from the starter motor over the top of the gear box and bolts to the nearside (passenger) inner wing junction box does not want to reach.

There are 2 P clips and they need to bolt to something to keep it clear of the gear linkage.

Can a member with a GTV P 2 or later, remove their TB to air box pipe and take a pic or describe where it goes.

Here is the cable:

Its alive!

Managed to sort the power cable issue, just had to feed it through the right way.

Took it out for a drive and boy does it fly and what shocked me the most (apart from putting my foot on the brake and little happening) was how little scuttle shake it had compared to the Maserati Spyder.

It still needs work but its running and driving now. I have to replace the airbag system next then it will be going off for paint and aircon regass.

I am going to have the front bumper, bonnet and the roof cover done and maybe the door too as the bonnet has impacted it slightly. Ill strip and prep it so my painter Phil should be looking at about £600, money well worth spending. I will do the wheels at home and that should be it, all in price just under £5k for a mint 25k mile one owner example.

Thanks Smaky, worked it out in the end, it just has to route in a very specific way, its up out of the way of the gear selection with the P clips.

Took all the seats out this weekend and vaxed the inside out, fitted all the airbags. Drivers seat base is stripped waiting for a new leg bolster from Cloverleaf breakers as mine was crushed and when I took it out, the foam was split in half.

I have now registered the car, waiting for that to come back, MOT is still valid till September so thats one less job, insurance and tax next and I will be able to drive the thing.

Still a few jobs to do, refit the drivers repainted door mirror and door card, managed to fix the drivers interior door opener...that wasn't opening, retensioned the cable, now it works like a good'en.

I would finish it till I get back from Le Mans in a couple of weeks but something to look forward to!

Recoloured the seats and they are now soaking up the leather conditioner in the garage, I put it on thick and it takes a good week to soak in fully.
