I wore a sort of flat cap when I drove my K series Rover engine'd car... as the Caterham had no roof or sun visor to keep the sun off the eyes.

As you can see, I had a Rover too, never had a problem with the engine. It revved freely and the chassis was flexible too... But that was it's weakness!

Don't get me started on Porsche warranties. How many engines blew up in the 996 and early 997 ranges (and the early V8 Cayennes). Thousands. And did Porsche ever accept it was their fault? No. They decided that their reputation for engineering excellence would out weigh the bad press, and so it proved. People carried on buying them anyway. Just don't be thinking that Porsche treated their clients with any more respect than most other manufacturers.

There's a big difference between an engine blowing up from IMS bearing failure out of warranty than a car which is in "warranty" having a claim for a major component failure being declined for whatever bullsh!t reason.

We know they are actively looking for any reason possible to refuse claims, even scouring forums including this one to find reasons not to pay out.

Interesting.

Following my rant about lacklustre Maserati sales folk I was contacted by DL's about my 'recent enquiry' (which was months ago), though I don't have an invitation to the QP event.........yet

This. In spades.
