Just asked the guy who bought my silver car to photograph the paint code sticker in the boot. I have a photo but it is too blurred. Also got the SZ out of the garage do you still need a headlight?

Caused a shiver down my spine there Andy; look just like the Fiat Regatta ones! Now that was depreciation summed up in a car!

Did you take the paint sticker off? Sometimes you can see the indentation of the letters on the reverse.

can any alfistis clarify/advise what paint code is the silver on these motors, the label in boot is almost completely illegible, can just make out I think "argento strato?" and then something in brackets which looks like "2 coats" ?

Is it just a illusion or are the letters embossed? If so you could try taking a rubbing on paper?

[Hi,
If you contact Alfa Romeo you can get information on your car, I did and below is what they sent me. Not sure how long it will take given the circumstances at the moment. If Marco is still there and I believe he is He is a very good guy. Hope that helps.
Good luck with the car, I am impressed with your work rate.
What medium did you use in the blaster and HOW did you clean it all out again:confused:

According to our documentation files, the chassis number ZAR 11637003017727 originally corresponds to an Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTV 2.0 RHD, manufactured on the 6th September 1983 and sold on the 26th March 1984 in UK.
The body colour is metallic black (AR 907).

Yours, Sincerely,

Marco Fazio

that's great cheers, i'll ping an email to him.

I used the fine block paving sand which i had hanging around, only had half a bag and needed some more so ordered a 25kg bag of glass beads from ebay, I had a variety of silicone plugs to make sure nothing ended up in any box sections all the media was then just blasted away with an air compressor blow gun, although the block paving sand worked fine the proper glass beads cut through far quicker

I'm a bit of an impatient bugger and when I've decided to do something i want to get on with and it's a good excuses to stay in the garage in these times, too many women in my household;)

Do you still have your Alfetta, would love to see some photos

Careful with sand, alot of people used to use it but I am told that when broken down through a blaster it releases silicon which is carcinogenic.
Yes still have it, I bought it new done 42k in it and absolutely love it. Only bodywork I had 2 new front wings about twenty years ago.
Also have twin spark 916 spider which has only 22k on it
All original paint, took to Italy last year, it is great fun
Also a RHD Montreal which I am restoring albeit much slower than you:( I could start a whole new thread on that one.
I will post some pictures.
