I saw that, good negotiations to get the parking, and with our cars along the side everyone together also was good

Got back safely on Sun afternoon - car was impeccably behaved all weekend, which is always nice. :)
Like Matt, I couldn't get off the sofa the rest of the day and fell asleep watching the footie.

What a great weekend! Bravo once again to Miles, Dave and all else who had a hand in organising things. Thanks also to Mark for some fantastic pictures.

Great (as always) to see all the regulars on the forum and a delight to meet some new faces. What a friendly bunch Maserati owners make. Look forward to seeing everyone else again very soon. The few snaps I took don't really ad anything more to the pics already shown. I did take a brief video at the entrance to Silverstone that should include all the members cars, which I'll try and post up at some point (if I can work out how to do it as it's a big file!)

Thanks for the vote of confidence Dem although I think the karting did my back in. :( I now know how you feel Beau!

Maybe we should pick the teams by having captains or something next time? The venue had initially placed two girls on one team, which seemed incredibly unfair (especially as one of them had never done it before). I know the fact that one of the girls dropping out meant that we had a little reshuffle but it was still a bit skewed.

I'm not moaning (my team did finish 3rd after all!) but I think it would be far more interesting for everyone involved if the teams were kept as close as possible in ability so that the racing was close. It's much more satisfying when you are overtaking someone to move up a place than just to lap them! ;)

I'm still aching from Karting, but really enjoyed, especially the bit where I was rammed and another kart went underneath me, somebody in front slammed on and I had to brake (probably Benny..!!) but great fun..!!
I thought the young man on reception at the hotel was a great help in organising all the parking for us, I will drop the hotel Manager a line to say thanks that man..!!

That was me trying to examine your floorpan from below, Rob. The two of us were having fun round the fast turn at the back to find someone spun in front of you at the hairpin, neither of us had anywhere to go...

Are you kidding, I was the lucky male with two incredibly talented ladies on the team. Let me tell you one got sub 30 seconds on their last lap. I would happily go in a team with either of them again. As long as they promise to go into the pit lane from the correct direction next time (you know who you are B.x). I got early/late 29secs on many laps but I could tell I hadn't done it for many a year.

Stormin' Phil and the 2 girl Bandits, I think that was a plan to come in to the pits the wrong way, just to slow some of the others down a bit....!!!!

What an absolutely brilliant day.

The atmosphere before the karting was a sign of the day to come. Lots of banter, everyone making an effort to be friendly and make everyone feel welcome.

The karting was excellent fun. My first 15mins were sub par I think. But I think the smoke and gas inhalation from the deep fried burgers played with my senses as the next trip out I was much more successful.

The drive from the karting to Silverstone was one of my favourite parts of the day. Simon's car going for it with a full larini system sounded brilliant, Robert close behind and then Chris....for a second time that day... up Roberts rear. I bailed after the speedo hit a certain speed. I also cursed that I'd taken the chips from the karting in the car!

Silverstone was a great occasion, thanks Dave. The endless corners and adverse camber, I'd never really appreciated when watching F1. It was a fabulous sight.

Then the scenic route to the hotel followed by a fun dinner, where Newton, his Mrs, Chris, Indi, Ambient, Mrs Ambient, Hodroyd and Mrs Hodroyd all provided excellent company. Dem also finally decided to allow me to introduce myself to his wife.

Onto the bar and nightclub where Robert proved he still had the moves. I also have a great photo of Mark wearing some rather fetching plastic lips!

I bailed out at 3am, did Bar Conaero happen?

Suffice to say I had a great day. Miles thank you for organising and being the host. Dave thanks again for arranging Silverstone.

See you all soon.
