As a few members have a passing interest in cars, I wondered if anyone fancied joining me at the Geneva Motor Show in March next year?
Entrance to the show is cheap, and can be bought on the day at the door with virtually no queues. The Salon is in the PalExpo buildings right next to the airport; in fact you walk through the terminal, through the railway station and to the entrance doors without going outside, except for the last 20m or so to the nearest entrance. It's a 5 minute walk... Considering the time it will take me to drive there, queue for the parking (which isn't a 5 minute walk away) and then get to the entrance, it's likely to be the case that you can get there faster from London than I can from 20 miles away.
It's easily doable as a day trip from the UK, with a cheap flight into Geneva, all day at the show, and a flight back out the same day. The cheap flights sell out early, particularly as it's ski season too, so I'd suggest they are snapped up sooner rather than later. Currently, as an example, there are plenty of flights available at under £90 return (many around £75) for mid-week. The show is open to the public from Thursday 5th to Sunday 15th March, but I'd strongly recommend NOT going at either weekend. It gets rammed... The halls are particularly empty though in the early evening, so well worth considering a later flight back.
I'm thinking of going on Thursday 12th March, but happy to change that if it suits others better.
It might work out that we could engineer something into a SportsMaserati ski weekend too
Any takers?
