It has been wonderful start to the new year till now. Have had a couple of people winding down windows to let me know how great the car sounds, people coming over in the car parks to discuss and acknowledge the beauty that lies in Maserati Objects d'art.
I personally spent Saturday re-washing and polishing the car (did it 3 weeks ago) and was chuffed with the final result.
And so this evening, I went to Sainsbury to get the some last minute supplies for dinner before it closed. Car park was busy even for this time of day, but I went through the whole of it and found myself a corner with two empty slots and a car to one side. I parked as one should (did not hijack the two slots) but gave enough wide berth for any careless door openings from the car on the side.
Came back in 15 minutes and had another guy pass by and discuss the car. Said its the first QP he had ever seen!
Come back home smiling and with much warmth in the heart, you know, like "life is good if it has a Maserati in it!".
Then I notice the gash. Not a scratch, a proper dent about 3 inch vertically implanted on passenger door offside.
I trembled with rage and sadness. Caressing it to rub it out just made me feel worse and now i can see the paint has been affected. All this is receding evening light. I won't know how bad it is till tomorrow morning when I leave for work but I am not looking forward to it.
Revenge, forgiveness, shoot at sight, self-harm are all rotating in m mind with no clue who this person might have been. My mistake is that I did not take the Mobius camera as I always do on this occasion. it was charging. Even then with the angle it is aimed at, it would not have captured the deed.
What recourse do I have? Forget, swallow the bitter pill and move on? Should I contact CCTV blokes at Sainsbury to find some footage and lodge a complain with Police?
I swear QP will not go to Sainsbury and left on its own from now.
I have had to take some cask strength Laphroig to help me calm down and pen down this rant.
I thank you for being a good listener.
