Not surprised it happens so often. One of my Lotus mates asked me what the roads were like in view of organising a club driving holiday around Ireland, I told him not to bother as there would be casualties. Probably a driving holiday more suited to a Subaru club.... Or maybe a Land Rover club.

Mind you in my fairly limited number of excisions into the North I've found the roads generally to be better maintained than in the Republic.

Most of the main roads aint to bad....but the B/C class roads are 3rd world standard......tell your mates to take their cars to northern France..................bliss!!

Traipsed back out this evening to photo and measure said offending item.....and then fill in 6 page form to send off, got tracking etc checked, all ok, bill in total for £150. Fortunately have recovery/breakdown cover!

Dan..tight timing.......we are going over to Nice on the 29th evening.......so we could do a meetup/burn-up/tear-up or either evening before.....it will give my district council time to fix that pothole........
