James Garner RIP

Sad to discover that James Garner passed away today after a long illness since his stroke in 2008 or so. He was a terrific actor.

As it happens, I'm watching one of his movies, "Grand Prix". It's amazing to see old footage from 1966/8 and some famous faces eg Graham Hill. Having survived the heat watching the GP in Hockenheim, it's nice to relax in front of the tv and watch a movie IN ENGLISH. The lack of safety procedures back then is truly frightening.

Agree, loved him in the Rockford Files, Maverick, and so many other roles, and particularly as the scrounger in the Great Escape. Very sad

Very sad news - alway enjoyed the things he was in.
