I know what you mean but it does breathe and reacts to moisture.What I don't get, modern car seat leather is 'sealed', so how can you get moisture/conditioner into the leather if it is 'sealed'?

its somewhat “porous” if it wasn’t it’d be like sitting on a vinyl seat when you were a kid.
Well it isn't like that now. Like new. Skillful and tenacious chap is that Matt.The trick is to get moisture into the leather. First I would put the seat back as flat as possible and put a wet rag on for a bit then yes, apply steam. Don’t scrub it, you will take the colour off.
Drop in, I’ll have a bit of a go at it or you can borrow the steamer and do it yourself.
Robins car was in recently and he had dents and marks below the NIT from it previously being removed (not by us). I applied steam and massaged it all out. Before:
