Hi Cobra

How is the 159 treating you? We have been thinking about a second car and had been thinking of a BMW 330d until we found the 159 was around for similar money. How do you find it to drive, and how is the economy from the 2.4? The 159 wont have the performance of a 330d but perhaps the driving experience and sweet looks make up for that

Cheers

Hi Mondie. The 159 is pure bliss , the handling is top notch, the fuel economy depends how you drive motorway miles in granny format and you'll hit the 70's spirited driving on a motorway will see you in the 50's but go hardcore and expect a lot of stops at yhe services. Around london I see late 30's to low 40's.
This particular 159 makes a 330d seem like a 1.3 and yes I have driven the 330d bwm. But she's had the dpf removed so the mpg is much better than that of a std 2.4 and shes remapped with full stainless steel exhaust from the manifold down for better performance. Personally I think she is now the car alfa should of released.

And quite by chance is now up for sale due to my new purchase of a maserati QP.

Sounds like a great car Cobra. Whats a dpf? Who did the remap and exhaust? The economy is pretty mind boggling!

Up for sale :) Might be 3-4 mths too early for me unfortunately. We are going from a 2 to 3 car family so I have a couple to sell myself first.

^^ see above and i Highly suggest a dpf removal on Any new Alfa diesel car, AlfaTune Motor sports in st. Helens did the remap and exhaust for me.
If you want the High mpg though you really do have to drive like a granny on a normal day of motorway runs ill get about 1000miles to a tank of fuel.
just a straight forward remap and DPF removal will give you the performance over a 330D BMW so you dont need to go nuts on the remap, and the handling of the 159 is well know to be above the standard of BMW, ull be very surprised what one can actually do. So defo go out and take a test drive if your still unsure.
the 2.4 does come in two formats the 200bhp version and the 210bhp the 200 is a very capable car but the 210 is just a standard better, and a lot more tuner friendly when the DPF's have been removed.
