It was good to see so many lovely Tridents together, but to be honest I preferred Stanford Hall for the setting (the hill climb is great and all that, but if you're not on the hill then you're just in a car park) and I thought sharing with the Jag's was a bit incongruous when previously the day has been shared with other Italian motors.

gutted I missed this...

(so gutted I can't talk about it)

thanks for taking & posting these shots Emtee...

(The rear arch on the Shamal is of course Gandini's trademark and appears on the QP IV and Diablo amongst others)

I didn't realise Drummond's former QP V was in Giallo Fly? The yellow Cup P338 LSP was formerly his as well in the same colour (he drove me to my [1st] wedding in it in '99) and he had a 3200 GT in the same shade- but I remember it being more 'green'. Not a colour that comes out well in pictures in my experience...

The yellow on the Ghibli Cup is actually a darker, richer yellow than that on the QP. The QP is a lighter, lemon yellow. To my eyes, the yellow suits the Cup quite nicely, but I'm not convinced it works so well on the QP.

Given the colour of my GS I am biased, but have to agree with Andy on the QP - it doesn't suit it at all. I'm not keen on the paler yellow anyway - the Ghibli looks to be the same/similar colour to mine - Giallo Granturismo

I really enjoyed the day and the change of venue and seeing the old jags was good too. Stanford Hall was getting a bit tired IMHO but I hope we revert back to an Italian day as I missed the Alfas and Lancias although there are other events. Those that enjoy their food would have thought it was a good move too and you could even buy a pint. Whilst there must have been ten jags to every Maserati this was not reflected in the hill climb numbers! The star of the show was maybe the collection of Cups thanks to Ewan's organisation. Those of you who returned south maybe did not enjoy the returning Vauxhall members who were coming home from their event (partnering with Ferraris maybe?) who had a dog fight back up the M1 chasing Audis out of the fast lane. Needless to say Wooley Edge had a rather dented Astra limping into it as I stopped for one of my regular GS petrol stops.

Does anyone know if you can get track day insurance for that type of activity too?

P

Yes you can P try competition car insurance I am with them and I get 6 track days a year fully insured which allows the lead in my right foot to take full effect with no worries. Very reasonable too, I went with them on price not because of the track insurance.

Don't think they will cover a hill climb to be honest.
From my experience with tracking my Maserati its race circuits with approved organisers only.

Always worth a call.
Tried for cover for the Nurburgring a few years ago, a normal 'tourist day' not a closed track day....computer said no!
