Found a magnaflow catback exhaust on Facebook

Just got to work out how to get it from sawton Cambridgeshire to warrington , he won't post it

You could have a courier pick it up from him, of course.
On one occasion I shipped a box half-filled with bubble-wrap to someone, and then had the courier pick it up the next day, after they had put the item in. Very tiresome, but effective.

He's not keen on a courier but if it comes to it I'll chat him up , I don't want to miss it so a trip in that direction in the motorhome might be on the cards

I'm heading past on the 7th. Can pick it up there and send a courier to me. Going to be tight that weekend so pick up would need to be something like 12th....

Let me know

Thanks , appreciate the offer , it'd need packing , would that be OK, assuming the timings work

Yeah, no issues at all. I can throw it in the boot of the Jaaaag and pack at home. I'll bill you for bubble wrap ;)

OK I'll message him to see if it works for him. Any idea what sort of time on the 7th
I can get it collected as soon as I get dimensions and a weight so I can book it

3 week supercharged report

I love it , mashing your foot in the carpet in a straight line is fun but expensive , corners are not so great but it is a 3t suv 6ft high so it's never going to be sports car

The £360 ved mitigates the costs a bit , and it is replacing a van and a car so I'll be saving on the running costs of a van ( man maths)

I may have found a keeper , it needs some paint at the back but it's only surface rust , underneath needs some dinitrol but it's not rotted , just crusty

The interior is very good , hardly any wear , the 2 tone seats are growing on me and the wood being black is OK

Although the gearbox seems fine a service might be prudent so I'll look into that , hopefully I'll get some paint on the wheels before the temperature drops too much .

I had thought about changing them for a good used set which I may still do but the supercharged wheels are unique to this car as far as I can see

Love it and really pleased to see your gamble work out.
Get your mechanic to just let a little fluid out from the transmission and if it's dirty change it.
Use a good service kit with the correct long life oil as it's money well spent.

I may have a set, I'll double check. New bottom tailgate straps for mine now required, they rust badly under the boots, worth checking yours.

They seem OK but I did find out the front bonnet struts need changing the hard way.

The tyres have about 3mm on them which considering they're only just over a year old surprised me , missed a set of 20" wheels on Facebook with new tyres for £400 which was a bit annoying

This is ours a 09 Autobiography with the 5.0 S/C engine we love it hence it got brought to Ireland even with the €2380 yearly road tax

I got a whole car for that , the biggest attraction was the £360 tax , €2380 , that really is the Irish government just saying we don't want you to have it.
Nice though

It’s not only Ireland. I’m about to take our old Landie out to our place in Mallorca, and the import tax is likely to end up at around 25% of the value of the car. Which is partly why I’ve chosen to take this over any of the others. Complete anti-UK EU rip-off tactic.

Be a great drive down there. Ewan, though you might need to order yourself a new backside after such a long odyssey in an old Landie.

I've decided it's too far to go in this. The current plan is tow it down, using a more modern Defender and a trailer.

Shame. I was looking forward to being witness to your trials and tribulations on the way down.
