Can you point me to where you find information on the designated Maserati parking, and if you need to book or just turn up? When I said Concours I was referring to this, which is the only info I can find: (AutoItalia site http://www.auto-italia.co.uk/events.asp ): "Launched in 2013 this exciting new event will be held again in the manicured parkland of Stanford Hall. Centrally located with easy access from the M1 and A1M motorways, this superb stately home will be host to extensive displays of classic cars, bikes and commercial vehicles of all marques and nationalities. The event incorporates a classic car concours competition which forms the centrepiece of the event. Attractions include aerobatics, a tribute band and autojumble." Not exactly gone out of their way to inform drivers of the options....
We just turned up last year, handed over a vast sum of money (compared to what was actually on offer, or to say events at Silverstone) and were then directed to park in the central area, no pre-booking required.
I thought it was a fairly dull show, admittedly with some very nice cars attending, but I can't say I'm rushing to return.
Thanks Drewf. Makes me reconsider. I haven't been before, maybe will give it a miss then - no shortage of other events at this time of year (maybe that's one of their problems, alongside their poor publicity).
I'll be there, I found the event well attended with some good cars to view, the classic addition opens the event out a bit & ensures a good cross section of cars & stands,
We've got a big Alfa bash on the night before at the Holiday Inn at Crick, as it's only around the corner it would be rude not to...
Hope I'm not too lashed!
It's usually a good event, though the weather has done its best to dampen it in the past. On a nice day it's a lovely setting and in spite of the owners club not having their concours there anymore, there's always some interesting cars to wander around. Of late it's been light on top end metal, but the Fiat, AR and Lancia clubs still attend in some numbers. I'll be there in the Exxy all being well.
