Good evening indeed fixed a 156 bit this evening so feeling chuffed...

Seen your new thread, get the feeling you have a bargain there :) Always satisfying tinkering when it goes right.

I best go see how my 33 is getting along tomorrow :(

Mostly head scratching to try and figure how it was supposed to work; naturally the little plastic lugs were so long gone no trace existed to give me a clue, google to the recue as it pointed me to the 156 forum where the fix was explained nicely. actual fix was probably half an hour!

well that day went well!!

Took the 164 out for a spin to help my mate Nick sort a starter motor on his VW Camper T25, we took out the one that "didn't work" only to find it did and it was only the solenoid wire that was loose! Nick spent £178 on a referebed one!!!

Then returning home to get Nick G's panel off an old 33, the bearing on my Q4s aircon pump seized !!!!!!!!!!! She is now abandoned on my mates drive to be recovered at some point tomorrow - bugger

Every cloud!!

Went to pick up the 164 and tow her the 29 miles from Tuanton after the burning out of what we though was the pulley bearing on the aircon, and on start up, there is definatley a bearing issue as it is noisy, but I was able to drive her home with no failure to the belt or pulley

Guessing it was the electro magnetic clutch that failed and also lucky we had no fire!!!

Just a bill now for the compressor, which I might fit myself - gas to discharge responsibly first

Ha ha Nik! I saw the programme of that parking Nazi, seems he is universally hated.

One up for the small people!

Brilliant - he's no hypocrite then!!!

Kelly got caught in a 30zone some while back and went on a speed awareness course, and she said the pensioners on it were the least remorseful
