Anyone with an interest in 80s music this is worth watching. Lucky to have worked with the much missed Rupert Neve on the Air Montserrat console.

Thank you for posting the link, I’m going to watch it now. I think I’ve posted pictures of the studio before on here. I went there in 2016. Very sad to see it abandoned.

Thank you for posting them photos. How I would've loved to go there.
When George Martin first got Rupert to build him the console in the late 70s it stayed there until 86 by which time the firm SSL from Oxfordshire where becoming popular and George Martin replaced the custom Neve with an SSL but got Rupert to design a sub mixer to go in the SSL and the custom Neve got sold to A&M in LA which went on to make some great records like The End Of The Innocence by Don Henley and parts of Rattle And Hum by U2. I went down to Air London with Rupert's son to deliver the sub-mixer where we met up Rupert and everything was checked before being shipped to Montserrat. Andy Summers can be seen dancing on the custom Neve in the Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic video. A couple of my friends now work on the custom Neve at Subterranean Studios in Toronto
The was the article in an American magazine when the SSL with our sub-mixer was first used on Boy George's solo album, lol, it did get better with Sting's Nothing Like The Sun.

Fascinating to hear that, thank you. It is great that this incredible equipment lives on.
