It’s been a quiet one here; 3 btls of champagne, 2 btls of white, 1 btl of Sauternes and a decent bottle of red. 4 of us, and I just had to help one of them to bed :)
Chilling with a cigar before turning in and baking breakfast for the guests

Not sure if you can get this in your neck of the woods, but if you can it’s worth it, 97/100 and best in class at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2022. Just picked some up, luckily they are just down the road from me.

Just finished a bottle of this and as it was an impulse buy, I was pleasantly surprised.
The nearest decent wine importer is is Belfast. Forty ish minutes away. So, locally, we're
stuck with the High Street.
That said. This Beaujolais from Tesco was a pleasant surprise. A bit more "weight' than
your usual Beaujolais, but velvety smooth. No sharp edges or elbows. Was very able to
hold its own with roast beef. I'd forgotten how much I paid and am almost embarrassed
to admit that it was as little as £7.50. However, I would suggest that it is very decent
value for dining in. No vices. Only positives. Hick!
Now where did I leave that Baked Alaska! Yes, it's still the 1970's over here

Those are elegant glasses. However, I feel that ze Germans take bauhaus a bit far sometimes.
I'm not knocking their version of creativity. However, a certain blending of influences is sometimes
hidden by the blindspot that exists in their search for purity.
That's not a wine glass. This is a wine glass (Le Mans grade):

Carafe. One of my favourite words. Love the way it just rolls off the tongue.
I wonder what it is in French.

If I was a French person. I would say. "That is a very sad carafe. Because it is empty.
Quickly! Fill it up again and make it a happy carafe!" Or, perhaps that is just me.
