Slightly off topic (due to price) but I looked at the BMW i3 today, bloody clever bit of kit and a very modern funky interior, which is pretty roomy given its exterior size.No road tax and costs about £2/3 to charge it for 80 miles, or free if your local council has charge points with free parking at the same time. The 0-60 of 7.2 secs surprised me most.Although not cheap (£369 to lease)I can see why they have a 7/8 month lead time.

It depends where you live , I have loads of free charging points local to me, but I accept its still early days for them.

You get 65mpg in town?
How many litres tank does it have?

I think it has a 35 litre fuel tank.

If you think it's a candidate, feel free to give me a call, Dem: I can tell you in more detail the pro's and con's of the car. It's far from perfect but it's ruddy economical.

Dem - be interested to hear your ideas on finance.

Are you thinking minimal initial outlay, and just a moderate monthly charge? And that is your reasons for not going second hand?

Cheers

Yes Ross....min dep and low monthly and in 2 years give it back....
I need a runaround that will be covered if thongs go wrong, love my Panda but if clutch or steering goes that would be another £300 each time.....

Makes sense really.

But when you say give it back after two year, won't that actually equate to you selling the car and then paying off the remainder of the finance outstanding on the car?

No just hand it back.....

You buy a new car at 14k, over 3 years its worth 5k?
This is based on 500 and Kia Rio.....

2k a year in repayments over 3 years is 6k.....

Don't forget that post the financial fvck-up crisis thingy most finance companies will under-estimate the end of term value of a car. Rather than just giving it back you may be better off to pay the balloon and then sell the car.
